School Visitors

Parents/guardians and other guests of the district are welcome and encouraged to visit TUSD schools. Visitors must respect the learning environment however and maintain proper behavior and decorum. (EC 51512)

  • All visitors shall report to the office and “sign-in” to notify staff they are in the building or on school grounds.
  • The principal or designee shall provide a visible means of identification for all individuals who are not students or staff members while on school premises.
  • Visitors shall return to the office and “sign-out” before leaving the campus.

Disruption of the orderly process of the school is prohibited. In accordance with Penal Code 626.7, the principal or his/her designee is authorized to deny access, ban or bar future access, and remove or request the removal of any visitor whose behavior is disruptive to the educational/ working environment of the school.

Visitors to any of our campuses who have been denied access or who have been asked to leave may schedule an appointment to appeal to the Director of Student Services at (209) 667-0887 daily between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm.

ELPAC

We are pleased to announce that our school has been selected to participate in the state field test of the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California, the ELPAC, which will replace the current California English Language Development Test (CELDT). This is a great opportunity for our school.

The purpose of the field test is to gather information about the design of the test and the performance of the test questions. This year’s field test is happening in specially-selected schools across California. Some English learners and English-proficient students in our school have been chosen by the state to participate in this field test. 

The test will be administered over a period of several days. Because this is a field test, neither students, parents, nor teachers will receive individual student test scores or reports. 

If you would like to know if your child has been selected for the field test, or if you have any questions, contact Mr. Chandler at Crowell School

If you wish to exempt your child(ren) from participating in this opportunity, you will need to submit a written request specifying your child’s name, grade, and the name of the test. This request should be submitted to Mr. Chandler at Crowell by March, 1. 

 

 

Nos complace comunicarles que nuestra escuela ha sido seleccionada para participar en la evaluación de campo del ELPAC (Evaluaciones de Proficiencia del Idioma Inglés de California), la misma que reemplazará al CELDT (Evaluación del Desarrollo del Idioma Inglés de California). Esta es una gran oportunidad para nuestra escuela.

El propósito de esta evaluación de campo es recoger información acerca del diseño de la prueba y el desempeño de las preguntas. Este año la evaluación se lleva a cabo en escuelas seleccionadas del estado de California. En nuestra escuela, algunos aprendices de inglés y algunos estudiantes proficientes en inglés han sido elegidos por el estado para participar. 

La evaluación será administrada en el transcurso de algunos días. En vista de que esta es una evaluación de campo, ni los estudiantes, ni los padres ni los maestros, recibirán calificaciones o reportes estudiantiles. 

Si desea saber si su hijo ha sido seleccionado para esta evaluación de campo, o si tiene alguna pregunta, favor de comunicarse con Mr. Chandler en Crowell School.

Si usted desea que su hijo(s) no sea parte de esta oportunidad, deberá remitir una solicitud por escrito especificando el nombre de su hijo, grado, y el nombre de la evaluación. Favor de entregar esta solicitud a Mr. Chandler en Crowell antes del Marzo, 1.

No survey feedback/comments are identifiable by name or school unless specified in the comments made…and even then, the stakeholder is NOT identifiable.  To help us in meeting the needs of all students through multiple lenses, identifying the stakeholder role (staff, student, parent, or community member) on the survey is very important.

 

Over the past two years, patterns of concerns have been shared with leadership in an effort to make improvements and bring about necessary change.  Again, these concerns are lumped under a stakeholder group because input is NOT identifiable by a stakeholder’s name.
